Story

Rwanda´s Hutu majority butchered at least 800,000 minority Tutsis during the civil war in 1994, a genocidal rampage encouraged by radio broadcasts that fanned fratricidal hatred. This documentary focuses on a young man who was forced by fellow villagers to murder his own sister´s children. Of the 130,000 Hutus detained for war crimes, he was among the few to confess his participation in the mass killings, and won release from custody after three years. A chilling portrait of how media manipulation drove neighbors to frenzied violence.
